A Somaliland mother can only feed her child by boiling black tea, as drought in the region has decimated crops and killed off livestock. The situation borders on famine.A mother in drought-ridden Somaliland feeds her family with black tea

Thirty-two-year-old Nima Aden Mohamed spoke about how she feeds herself and seven children at a camp on an abandoned airfield.

“I came here with 250 goats. All of them are dead except for two. I have seven children who I am struggling to feed and am forced to give them this black tea without milk as all the animals I used to milk are dead.”

1 million of the 2 million people in the camp face starvation.

Fighting by al-Shabab Islamist terrorists only worsens the situation.

The greater regions of Somalia face a similar situation, including the spreading of disease.
